Basic bushcraft safety with children
From shelter building to using saws, knives and fires. Learn how to safely deliver a variety of bush craft skills with families, groups and children—from early years to teenagers!

Based on the principles and best practices of the Forest School movement, the course is designed to teach those who work with groups, families, but particularly children and young people, what safe practices to put in place when using a range of hand tools for bushcraft or fire building.
Using experiential learning, delegates will develop their own bush craft skills, but crucially using methods which will be suitable for use with children and family groups.
This course is based around the “explain, demonstrate, imitate, practice” technique which means you will get hands on experience as well as theoretical explanations. The instructors will be with you every step to help during the practical stages.
